As you are aware, updates about the novel coronavirus are rapidly changing. Our hearts go out to those who have been affected by COVID-19. Governor Brown has banned large gatherings of 250 people or more, many counties and cities have declared states of emergency, and public health authorities are urging all Oregonians to implement social distancing as much as possible.
To ensure your safety, we have canceled our event scheduled for Saturday, March 14. We have rescheduled the event at World Of Speed for Saturday, May 2, 2020, and we look forward to celebrating Oregon Black elected officials at that time.
At your convenience, please reply to this note and let us know whether you would like to:
1. Plan to attend our event on May 2, starting at 6:30 p.m., at the World of Speed Museum in Wilsonville. If so, the ticket you have already purchased will secure your seat.
2. Receive a refund of $100.00; the Eventbrite fee of $7.72 is nonrefundable. If so, we will send you a refund promptly. To request a refund please contact Willie Richardson at Willie@oregonblackpioneers.org.
3. Donate all or part of the ticket price to Oregon Black Pioneers to support our work. Your support will be appreciated, of course, and we will send you a donation receipt for your tax purposes, as we are a 501(c)(3) organization.
We appreciate your flexibility, and we look forward to seeing you on May 2. Until then, please follow the recommendations of public health authorities to stay healthy and safe.
Please stay tuned for more information.
Willie B. Richardson,
